If you don’t know, Netflix allows up to 5 profiles to each account and as each profile user watches the their shows, Netflix uses their viewing history, to give personalized recommendations to each user.
The problem comes when people start sharing profiles with each other, or don’t bother changing profiles before starting to watch. Your roommate, parents and/or kids has the potential to really mess up your viewing history and in doing so, mess up what Netflix will recommend to you.
The recommendation will be weird and haphazard. The Netflix algorithm may start to offer you Korean dramas for example, it’ll ignore that you only have a passing interest in My Little Pony (the original was better) and what is this show “Cinta 100 kg”?!!!
Well, with the recent update, the problem is SOLVED. You are now able to create a 4 digit PIN for each profile user.
Now you can keep everyone out of your profile, out of your viewing history and rest easy knowing that your perverted Netflix viewing preferences, will forever remashain private.
